On My Doorstep

The Car Boot Day

Up at 4.30 a.m. so we could car-queue to get a good spot on the field. We've waited 14 years for this! My wife wanted to take a whole lot of stuff to the charity shops when we had to clear a relative's house. I said that it would be good to try a car boot sale. That was in 1996!

Still we chose a marvellous day and did rather well. Although, we noticed that the smallest things sell fastest for the most money and you end up carting the larger things back home.

Also, I was worried about the legendary dealers who sniff around early. Well, without them it wouldn't have been worthwhile. At least they are prepared to pay real money.

The photo is of three items (which did not sell) laid out on our table ready to attract someone's attention (which they didn't and we've got them still).

At least the residue can go to a charity shop now.

Can anyone identify the musician in the foreground?
