Roly's Life

By Roly

British Summer

We went to Mazey Day in Penzance with friends today.

Unfortunately I forgot the camera having taken it out of my bag to charge the battery ready for our day out....

We caught the train which was full so we had to sit in 1st. The line goes past St Michael's Mount so I have decided that we are going there soon.

Penzance itself was rammed and hot and loud and bright and smelly. The first road we struggled along was decorated with the most beautiful flags and bunting. The stalls were a mix of all sorts but again seemed so colourful.

We nipped down a side street to the harbour front and founf ourselves an empty table in front of a pub for a beer and our picnic before heading back up into town again.

This time we walked up the street with all the food stalls - it was glorious, so many different types of food, such a shame we had just eaten.

We got back to the main street just in time to see the parade which was again spectacular.

Finally we headed back to the station again, stopping off for a crepe to refuel the kids, before getting home for a barbeque and Dr Who.
