coincidental perfection

when i visit the place i grew up, i have learned to expect any trip downtown to take twice as long as expected. i am always running into people i know, stopping to chat, and planning new adventures. the place just seems to suck in the people i love. today was no exception. a simple trip into town to look for some shoes turned into lunch with friends who are like family, an afternoon at the pub watching the world cup and an evening spent at a friend's cabin with delicious food, a bonfire by the water, fiddle music late into the night, and countless friends both old and new.

this fine man was part of the duo we bumped into, instigating such a splendid chain of events. looking out over a peaceful lake, as the golden sun dipped low in the sky. one of those perfect northern michigan days.
