Least Tern Chick

We returned to Cape Cod today, in preparation for taking down my exhibition at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (more on that tomorrow).

After checking into our motel we went out to West Dennis Beach, where we had had a wonderful morning six weeks ago when we came to hang the exhibition, resulting in a very good blip of a Least Tern pair exchanging a minnow--clearly they were courting. Today we again saw many least terns, this time with several chicks--could it be that this very young chick (no more than a few days old) is the offspring of the very pair I blipped back then?
