Allcomers Meet....

We have some good friends who have been participating in a track club this spring and recently, they went to an all combers meet at a local community college. They told us about it and we decided it might be a fun thing for the kids to do!

So, tonight, we packed up dinner and headed to the track with our running shoes on and our camera in hand! The kids had a blast. They started the evening with long jump. Then, they did the 4X100 meter relay with their friends! Mia was the lead leg and moved from lane 6 to lane 4 after about two seconds of running. In doing so, she completely missed Tyler. So, Tyler had to chase Mia down to get the baton and then had to figure out how to get to Silas, who was still in lane six. It was hilarious!

After that, we had some dinner, the kids played around and then they did the 50 yard dash and the 200 meter run! This picture is Mia doing the 50 yard dash. I didn't get great pictures and totally should have taken video of this girl and her determination!! She was so cute and she took first place in her age group! Tyler also took first in the 50 and they both placed in the 200 as well! They had a blast!

After the relay, Mia was a little disheartened. I asked if she was ready to run fast again and she said, "But, Mom, whey am I losing?" I told her that it wasn't about winning or losing, it was just about having fun. She promptly said, "No Mom, it's called winning!!!"

Needless to say, winning the last two races was a major boost to her ego!! She'll be looking for a track meet to attend again soon, I am sure of it!

Kids are still having a good time at VBS this week, and I'm having a good time getting stuff done at home... in solitude!
