Rise - Andy Scott

I was aware of the existence of this sculpture by Andy Scott but hadn't seen it before. Today I found it by accident as I was driving past and of course I just had to stop and Blip it.

It wasn't the ideal time to photograph it as the sun would be in a better position for it late afternoon or early evening. I believe its lit up at night so that would also be a good time. I may go back.

It is six metres high and has the head and body of a woman with propellor-like arms. It symbolises progress and modernity rising from the past. It takes inspiration from the Greek goddess of the horse. Although made of steel it has a fluid look and a very elegant appearance.
