Arbiter of Taste

It's a sad early discovery in a new parent's life, when you realise that no matter how beautiful or tasteful the toys you pick for or are given to your child, the ones that they will really really love are gaudy, noisy, bright plastic ones.

BabyB's 'activity centre' arrived today - her face lights up every time she gets put in it.

And this new parent is starting to recognise the beauty inherent in any object that can keep a small child amused for 20 minutes - no matter how gaudy, noisy and plasticy it is.
