Gentle yardmate

I do like spiders and snakes...so that old song just doesn't fit. Well, ya'll are probably too young to remember it, but it went something like "I don't like spiders and snakes and that ain't what it takes to love me..." But hey, I'm thrilled to have spiders and snakes right here out the back door. It rocks!

I wish I knew what kind of snake this is...? Tried to figure it out online but could not do so.
