Bear

Today, we stopped for lunch in New Bern, NC on our way to Virginia. New Bern is celebrating its 300th year as a community. Part of the celebration was the creation of many bears, where they have been placed throughout the city. I understand the the word Bern, means bear. Here is one of the many. Some are temporary, and some have been purchased and will be moved to other venues.

By the way, I also discovered that New Bern is the birthplace of the popular beverage "Pepsi Cola", invented in a local pharmacy.
