Jamison Lake

This is being backblipped on July 6. For the beginning of the story, click here.

After our original plans fell through, we picked the Lakes Basin area because some of the members of our group had experience hiking there and knew that the elevation wasn't so high that we would be badly impacted by snow and high water, even though it was further north than Red's Meadow.

For our first day's hike, we drove to Plumas Eureka State Park, near Graeagle, and hiked to Jamison Lake. The trail was lined with wild flowers and treated us to views of waterfalls, lakes and a gurgling stream. There was very little snow on the trail. The day was sunny, the weather perfect, and it was too early for mosquitoes. Perfect!

We had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant in the evening. Plan B was working well.
