Me and Max

By grete

Life comes.

The shoes belonged to my dad. He was married in them. The rose adorned my son's button hole when he said yes to his bride.

Some years have gone. There is a new generation now.
And I am totally in love with him, my grandson.
As I am in love with life.

When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

"When Death Comes," by Mary Oliver

Life comes. Life goes. Then life comes again. And again.
