Fava beans

These little puppies are a labor of love. Lots of work to shell them, boil them, the squeeze them out of their tough inner shell. One pound of these yields about a small handful of beans.

Incorporated them into an orzo salad with red onions, tomatoes and smoked herring. So tasty.
