Aylesford

Jemma stayed over last night and has rearranged my DVD collection today (and ironed a few shirts for me). On the way to drop her home we went to Aylesford to take some photos.

In keeping with a number of my blips there's a medieval bridge and the river Medway. This tiny village is very picturesque - more images here - and featured in the opening sequence of "Half a Sixpence" (the film with Tommy Steele). When we first moved to that area, some 25 years ago, cars still used the bridge although it was one-way only. There was a "temporary" bridge a little further up river. This has now been replaced with a proper two-lane bridge and the old bridge is traffic-free.
