Botanical Art

The Friday hike location was across the San Francisco Bay in San Mateo County's Edgewood Park. I chose the location for two reasons. One, it's usually much cooler on the other side of the Bay in the summertime. Two, it's close to The Gardens of Filoli where we wanted to visit the Botanical Art Exhibit and the beautiful grounds.

Although we started early, it was not as cool as we had hoped. Thank goodness we had planned a short, easy hike. We were finished by 10:30 this morning and then headed over to Filoli where this photo was taken.

This was a juried exhibit, the pieces were all spectacular, and we had our own private docent in the person of Lee, one of our hikers, who teaches botanical art at Filoli and who's work was part of the exhibit. We're very proud of her.
