work in progress - cogs

my big boy E and I have been busy these holidays.

He sewed together the big rectangles, which I believe are called "fat quarters".
Then he decided on the design and positioning of the cog design.

This afternoon we ironed the applique gears or cogs on to his new quilt.

Next step is to sew the applique patches on, then we will attach the batting and the cosy fleece backing material.
