first of the harvest

well, other than radishes it's the first harvest anyway! mange tout from some cracking plant i got at tom & joe's a couple of months-ish back, and spuds from one of two plants my dad started off for me (not so long ago they looked like this). not quite self-sufficient, but give me a big enough garden and a proper greenhouse (and a potting shed and tons of cold frames and enough slug pellets to sink hms ark royal) and i reckon i could have a fair crop.

dad is envious - his spuds in pots all came out the size of marbles :-) and he's impressed at my growing skills re the mange tout, but refuses to eat them on the grounds they are pea pods...
