Axis of power

The Wetstraat (or Rue de la Loi in French) is the street that is the center of Belgian as well as EU governmental power.

The term "Rue de la Loi" or "Wetstraat" is often used in the Belgian media as a metonym for the Belgain federal government, because both the Belgian Federal Parliament and the office of the Belgian prime minister are located at the beginning of the street.

At the other end of the street the center of EU power is located with both the headquarters of the European Commission (Berlaymont building) and the headquarters of the European Council (Justus Lipsius building).
