knapweed pull

this morning i was lucky enough to spend some time along the lake Michigan shoreline. pulling spotted knapweed - an invasive plant that seems to be everywhere. ill notice a field of purple flowers, beautiful at first glance, only to quickly realize it is spotted knapweed. then get the urge to stop and start pulling up the whole field.
so showing up this morning to a pretty big patch of this little bugger, on a slight bluff, looking out over little traverse bay, i couldn't help but think - this is my job, really?? (though i must say, if that was all i did, i might not be so excited about it).

needless to say, a splendid morning on the shoreline.
