Having driven down to Kent yesterday, we continued on to Dover where we caught the ferry to France. The children really enjoyed the crossing and we spent most of it out on deck watching the white cliffs fade into the distance and the coastline of France slowly appear. It was very still and balmy, Rowan sketched the sea and wrote a poem and Murron ran here and there revelling in the motion of the boat. After that it was a VERY long drive down to the Auvergne - negotiating Paris and a quick glimpse of the Eiffel Tower (much to Rowans delight) - until finally we arrived feeling very weary to a warm welcome from Nick's parents at their home in La Penderie.
