The Blades at Farnborough

If you thought the Red Arrows were the best aerobatics display team in the UK, then think again: it's these guys, The Blades. For The Blades, the Red Arrows was merely a stepping stone; aerobatics primary school.

I saw these guys at Farnborough in 2008 where they were superb, and for me they were the absolute highlight of an otherwise somewhat lacklustre 2010 show. What these guys can do with four Extra 300 LP's is just astonishing. I took a huge number of photos of these guys, but I think this one really sums up their insanity, with three aircraft in shot in a bizarre mix of attitudes somehow failing to crash in to each other.

And smoke. Lots and lots of smoke.
