Turning the clock back

I can imagine the first occupants of this house, lower middle class Londoners moved out to the suburbs, sitting here with this exact same view back in 1935.

I wonder what they did for a living? Did the husband go to war just a few years later? Did he return safely? Did they dig for victory in our garden? Did they have an Andersen shelter at the bottom of it?

How many people have died in this house? How many babies born (at least one - he's my son)?

We've only lived in this house for a quarter of its life, a little less actually.

Makes me question whether all property, houses, cars, relationships, whatever isn't just borrowed. Everything, life included, on the never never.
