fun with strong acids and soil

well today i spent nine hours in uni 5 of them spent in labs the picture shows 2 samples of soil being "digested" in hot Aqua regia, an extreamly destructive liquid made by mixing concentrated HCl (25%) and concentrated HNO3 (75%) 2 colourless liquids that mix and give a vibrant yellow fuming liquid.

aqua regia is extreamly corosive and destroys larger molocules leaving things like iron, zink, magnesium and potasium to be analised.

the name aqua regia is latin for royal water

thus concludes tonights lesson
