It was probably 1994 when last I saw a dentist, on official business that is. My teeth and gums are apparently no worse for my 15 year dentistry sabbatical. I was hoping in that time that my wisdom teeth would dissolve, or just go away, or just get lost, or maybe just shrink.

No such luck. They will be forcibly removed tomorrow.
