summoned to play my part in the great scottish justice system.

the sheriff court is a strange mix of agressive modern architecture which blends in beautifully with the agressive modern 60s tower blocks behind it. and then right next door is a really crumbly handsome terrace of lawyer's offices facing the river. and then this link back to the seedy end of town.

the court was a mix of bored looking potential jurors in sensible office clothes, whispering lawyers in black gowns chatting in groups or fagging it up outside, groups of people waiting for relatives to go through their hearing. it felt like a distinct three way social divide.

not called to sit on the jury and so missed the chance to hear about the alleged attack by two young men on a third young man. the words head, kick and golf club appeared in the indictment.
