Checking out the Attractions

On the way home from Satakunta county, we stopped by at an interesting spot. St. Olavi's church in Sastamala is a worthwhile place to see.

In 1997 an arsonist hit this 500 years old church and the villagers built the wooden roof back according to traditional style. Last year two brilliant contemporary artists painted the indoors in their own way. The result is a very unique combination of modern art and traditional 16th century stone church.

I haven't handled the church pics yet, but today's blip is from the church's backyard, next to reverend's wife's tomb from 19th century.
