loose cattle

I was wondering what to use for my entry today when I rounded a bend and there it was: loose cattle, unfenced and very close to the road!

Not exactly representative of the general tenor of my days, but I sometimes know a good thing when I see it ? so I pulled closer, stopped the car, scrambled for my gear and just managed to get this photo before they got too nervous about me ~ and before I got too nervous about oncoming traffic!

Not quite Ansel Adams' Moonlight Over Hernandez, but, hey ? any gift, no matter how small, is meant to be cheerfully received, right?

(And I did call the cops on the cattle, so that they could be taken back home....)
