Dragonfly

Today was a Bank Holiday here in Ireland and for once it wasn't wet everywhere. Hereabouts it was overcast but dry all day long so we visited "Victoria's Way", a strange place just outside the village of Roundwood. Rather than attempt to describe it to you I will suggest that you Google it to see what I mean. Down by the ponds there were many flying creatures out and about and this is just one of them. Not having a true macro lens, I had to resort to attaching a close up attachment and stalking these guys, very quietly and stealthily. They are terribly skittish but I managed to bag a few reasonable shots. This is one which I like.
