Ambert

We mosied on down to the market in Ambert - so much local food to make your mouth water and some. From cheeses to cured meats, honey to gingerbread, pink garlic to fresh almonds, a huge selection of fruit and vegetables, bread, patisserie, all accompanied by the people who grow and make it - some real characters among them. We explored the streets and found a boulangerie full of the most mouthwatering cakes and tarts. To date it's the best one we have found and it looked and smelt amazing. Wild blueberries are in season and all the bakeries have various pastries and cakes full to bursting with them - and yes that wee tart was delicious :)
