Thames Trader

I made a quick return to the Summerlee Classic Truck & Car Show. Got there early this time before the crowds built up.

They also had some additional vehicles on display today. I particularly liked the Ford Thames Trader at the front of this line-up.

It dates back to 1964. Originally owned by the military it was purchased by W H Malcolm Haulage contractor and served the company well for some years. In the 80s the upper body was utilized as a refuse skip and the cab and interior sat on storage shelves. In 1997 Sergeant George Johnson of Strathclyde Police requested permission to restore it. He and his two assistants spent two and half years lovingly restoring it and it was registered in March 2000.
