Male Black Tailed Skimmer (Detail)

Looked in on the Wasp nest again this morning, despite another wet spell, the survivors were still trying to repair the nest. It was a quiet scene and I found this Black Tailed Skimmer basking on the ground getting some wamth into it's fragile body. The Black Tailed Skimmer likes to bask on bare ground areas, so if you can spot them before they spot you they relatively easy to photograph.
