High Kirk

This is St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh - taken from Parliament Square, just to the south of the cathedral.

Old buildings fascinate me. In particular old churches - they speak volumes of the power and money that was behind the church and the influence they had over peoples' lives not all that many years ago. I'm not religious, but I can see how a massive, impressive building could add to the overall impression of the supremity of God.

Just five short days now until we move house. Fingers crossed everything goes well this week!

Edit: I guess churches and this massive iridescent stained glass window here are part of our urban landscape/texture. Tagged.

LOTD: Another cat blip, this time Kirpatrick Durham for the excellent cat on safari blip. Great colours and focus and a great crop.

Also, best wishes to Lynn and her family today after the sad news.
