Happy Mother's Day!

Here in Thailand we are celebrating Mother's Day today. Mother's Day is celebrated on the Queen's birthday (and Father's Day on the King's.) The university and my language school are both closed today and tomorrow because of the holiday.

We also celebrated Ya's birthday. She was thrilled to have visitors on her special day. Someone threw around the number 77, but she wouldn't admit to it, and you would never guess by her spunkiness. We brought flowers and fruit to her home in the slums. It's the same house we helped rebuild two years ago. The house is looking much more lived-in now, which is good.
