no bovver for a hovver

Kneeling on the patio watching a spider construct a web, I was amazed at the quantity of hover flies around the plants.
Normally there are only the yellow/black variety but I was rather struck by this one on the Nicotiana flower.
Gave up on the spider, he was taking to long and my knees where killing me.
