Autumn's fruits

The garden next-door to ours is overgrown and pretty much abandoned. It's good for wildlife, and at this time of year, good for us too. There are apples, pears, plums, blue plums, damsons (I think) blackberries and an enormous crop of greengages.

Our 80-year-old neighbour has been picking the latter, and brought round two boxes for us! He's going to give me his recipe for greengage jam, too. The birds and wasps will get to keep the fruit that's too high to reach.
