Edge of the Storm

This was an awesome cloud day. The day started with blast furnace type heat and oppressive humidity and began to get hotter from there. All day the puffy clouds swirled and built and you just knew the storm was inevitable (plus I had checked the radar). First we heard the thunder as the clouds began to darken, build and pick up speed. Next, we heard the warning horn at the golf course and started to see lightning as the black clouds closed in. Then....we got nothin'. Ok, ok, it was about five minutes of steady rain (not nearly what we need) but we seemed truly on the edge of the only storm cell that crossed our way. This pic show the split sky with the dark clouds just off to the north.

After the front went through though we have had a fabulous break in the heat and humidity!
