Called ICU this morning to ask how R's night has been. He's sleeping very bad the last couple of days and tonight was not different. The nurse however told me thay R. wás going to the Cardiology ward today as planned.

After disconnecting all coronairy care lines (scary, but such a great relief!) and stripping the walls from postcards with good wishes of family and friends we made the walk/drive to the other side of the hospital. First thing we noticed was the wonderful quietness of the ward. No beeps and slime sucking noises! His bed was right next to the window and for the first time in six weeks he could see the outside world.

What a great day, eventhough the concerns about his thickened left ventricular wall and and not optimal functioning right ventricle are not far away in the back of our heads......

Tomorrows plan: a visit by the hairdresser on ward.

PS: After I posted I saw the notification that this is my 300th entry. never noticed it coming :-(

PPS: Last years photograph is a snail to!
