The Germans are coming.....don't tell him Pike

I had been planning to do this particular bike ride for some time along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation (river is "Chelmer"), this particular lock is Cuton Mill Lock. Did they really think the Germans were going to sneak up the river ? Either that or this is the ugliest Lock Keepers Cottage ever built.

The Destination was Paper Mill Lock, where we visit on a nice afternoon for a tea and a slice of cake, i have however never got there by bike before......7.5 miles later along the river, stopping along the way for photos took me about an hour....and there was no cake (too early) to boost the carbs either.

Along the way i had the company of a Kestrel who flew along side me for about 50 feet, i didn't even attempt to get the camera out, i just enjoyed the moment.

Made it back in 50 mins with legs only just working.
