Campsie High Kirk, Lennoxtown

(1828-1984)

We took a break from our good friend's wedding dance to go for a walk, and so we explored Lennoxtown. We were drawn towards the kirk, which dominated the skyline, and were astounded to see it overgrown and roofless, the result of a fire. It's still a beautiful building. The trees growing inside made it seem even more so.

We had a fantastic time. Emotions were high and the one huge coincidence of the day (year, possibly century) made for a tale that could be told throughout the night. Fi's parents were at the wedding and even at the same dinner table as us and I didn't know they would be there. We're friends of the groom and they are friends of the bride's mum. Groom and bride are from Inverness and Glasgow respectively. Small world. I hadn't seen Fi's mum since Fi and I graduated some 15 years ago. It was great to catch up.
