Cracked it!

Came back from Devon today and around 35 miles from home started getting mega graunching noises from the boat trailer.
Went slower and slower, finally down to 25mph for the last 3 miles to get home.
On close examination found the trailer axle had cracked through the flange and was really twisted, another few miles and the whole lot would have been sitting on the road.
