Love 'em or loathe 'em....

'tis the season of the sprout!

I love them, especially chopped and pan fried with bacon, in a creamy gratin or just plain boiled. The key is not to over cook them, they've got to be firm! If you've ever eaten mushy sprouts then you will never want to go there again.

The Christmas countdown is on in our house, first wee window on the advent calendar opened this morning (courtesy of Granny) with much delight and excitement. If they carry on like this December is going to feel very long indeed!
