Woodlouse Hill

The view from our tea room at Woodhill House aka Woodlouse Hill! This is the first of my blipfotos, hopefully they'll get more interesting. I work for the local law enforcement as their museum curator, and this is where I'm based on Tuesdays. The chimney, bright orangey building and its larger grey counterpart are Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's properties at Foresterhill. The big cranes are those working on the new library at Aberdeen University. There was a Victorian 'Woodhill House', and further back in time, this was the Stocket Forest which belonged to King Robert the Bruce. He granted it to the city of Aberdeen as a thankyou for supporting him against his enemies during the Scottish wars of independence from 1296-1314. 'Midstocket Road', just parallel with 'Westburn Road' recalls the location. So this image is as much about what you can't see as what you can!
