Eye to Eye

The elephant is a prized animal here in Thailand. Living on the outskirts of Bangkok, I occasionally see one walking down the street. This smaller, two year old elephant was well trained. On his trainer's command, he would dance, bow, lay down or say hello in his elephant language. He also knew what to do when money was handed over for a picture. Taking it in his trunk, he shook a thank you and handed it to his master. When the time came to say goodbye, he waved.
