Iftar

When Ramadan occurs during the summer months, the days are longer and therefore so is the amount of time spent fasting. Here in Egypt, they put the clocks back an hour so that Iftar (the meal which breaks the fast after sunset) is a little earlier than it would be otherwise.

This is the view from my balcony, which I really must get round to cleaning so we can enjoy sitting outside during sunset where during Ramadan it's quieter (a 20% reduction in the amount of beeping at least) than we'll ever hear it for the rest of the year.
