Heart of the house...The Kitchen.

Not the greatest quality photo to say the least but......

This is one half of our kitchen. The other half with the table and cooker is round to the right

Have been doing the annual maintenance on the wooden floor which is a right faff!
Clean, soap, wood cleaner, oil, finishing cloth! But it is worth it in the end and looks and smells wonderful. Well the darker half of the floor you can see as still got the other half to do.
Spending this time labouring had brought back how significant this room (or 2 rooms as it was until last year) has been in the last 7 years of being here.
It was the first room I saw in the house, the warmest room in the house, the one with a stained glass window that kinda sold it to us, first meal was here, 7 Halloween parties ended up here, first band practice of The Lorelei mk2 took place here, many songs have been born in this room, first mouse was seen here, first Christmas dinner in this house for us, countless impromptu parties, arguments, new food tried, many birthday parties, nintendo wii tournaments and tons of other stuff I have forgotten.
It really has been a creative space since we moved in.
It was made into 1 large room just last year. I did all the demolition myself with the occasional hammer wielding friend.
I have even sat in it, just after removing the roof, and looked up at the stars, moon and watched the snow come in this space, ha ha ha!
I love our kitchen and it is definitely the heart and soul of our house. It is a great space.
