Can't see the wood for the trees.

Yesterday there was an accident on the A9, my heart goes out to the families of those who died.

The road was closed below Dalwhinnie, and we found this out as we passed through Aviemore. So it was back to the petrol station to get a road atlas and to find that we had the choice of Speanbridge and Glencoe, or Aberdeen and the East coast motorway. We opted for the prettiest road in Scotland. Tomintoul. Apart from a coach grounded on a humpback bridge, and a duck that reckoned he could outface the minibus the long drive was pretty uneventful.

We had an hour of serenity at Rothiemurchus, before we started down the road, and here are the trees to prove it.

Never seen so many types of fungus in my life....
