"to notice"

La Jour Derniere

Today is the last full day in La Fage and I have saved this marker for today's blip. I first thought that all the crosses that surround this village, five not counting the dozens in the cemetery and at the church itself, had to do with piety. The history of these is rather one of marking a village or a town. The towns more often chose secular markers, and the villages in south France preferred the crosses. They are everywhere along the roads. Anyway, this one is my favorite, in that it has become a place where prayer stones in the Buddhist tradition have been piled by villagers and others. We head north tomorrow, on our way to Paris and our last week in France. Sigh!
