Growing Up

It seems like our son is growing up so quickly. All of a sudden he looks older and it's unreal how much taller he is since the beginning of the summer. Our reminder was when he walked out of his room wearing his favorite pair of sweat pants and they landed two inches above his ankles. "Oh buddy, those pants look a little short"....."Oh no Mommy, they are perfect". And he proceeded to wear them for the rest of the day. Note to self, our son needs a couple new pairs of sweat pants.

After lunch, my husband and our son sat at the kitchen table to do some drawing. They decided that they were going to draw a building on fire with Fire Fighters climbing the ladder with hose to put it out. So my husband started with the building and then my son drew his building. Next the fire. Then the truck ("it has to be a ladder truck Daddy"). And then the Fire Fighters climbing the ladder with the fire hose. With step by step instruction, our son drew the entire scene. It was adorable. I was just wrapping up some thank you cards so we decided to put his picture into the envelope for my Grandparents. They are going to love getting his artwork in the mail.

The drawing that he is working on here in this blip is a picture of me. He first drew Daddy, then me, then himself, and then his little sister. He has gone from scribbling like mad and making swirls all over the paper to now drawing actual pictures.

He is definitely growing up........but not too fast please.
