Pleasantly Wrecked

~~Backblip~~

So this is what happened after the bottle of champagne and horrendous bar bill.

Wednesday morning, we were up really early, but probably still half cut. We got ready and toddled off for breakfast, which was mighty fine. Came back upstairs, I made the mistake of checking my work emails (I know, I know!) and encountered some unexpected and accute stress. We realised we'd woken too early and tried to doze for a bit, Mathew more successfully than me - probably because of said stress and coffee @ breakfast... whoops!

We flicked through our magazines for a bit (I will crack portraiture, I tell thee!) and went for a stroll round the grounds again, by which time the stress disappeared (after 2 phonecalls). All was good, we went back in and found that our room keys had been deactivated. Although we had an upgrade to a 2PM check-out, it turned out they were having a problem in that all keys deactivate automatically on the day of departure at the standard 11 o'clock check-out time. No big deal, they let us back in, we packed our stuff together, realised we were only hanging about because we could, and weren't actually doing anything to justify still being there. So we checked out at one-ish, and headed into Warwick.

We were a bit disappointed :( It was OK, we had a wander around, considered going to the Castle, but it looked more the sort of thing you'd take kids to. There wasn't much else to grab our attention, so we moved on to Leamington Spa. Again, looked Ok but nothing much to do there, other than the usual high street shops. I do worry for the young people of both towns!

We didn't fancy heading home along the Motorways at the busy rush-hour period, so we started off along the A Roads until we found somewhere to eat. Food scoffed, the traffic seemed to have cleared a bit so we decided to stick to the smaller roads - thinking it might take about the same length of time but at least we'd be moving. I'm ashamed to say, I slept most of the way :-s

Although nothing exciting happened, it was still a good day :)
