Statsraad Lehmkhul

A regular visitor from Bergen to Lerwick is the Statsraad Lehmkhul. Lerwick is a handy stopping off point for it on its trips across the North Sea. According to its web site ?She is Norway?s most beautiful! Largest, oldest, steeped in memories of olden days?.

It is also a joy to see it in the harbour and I can usually see its masts as I come over the hill into Lerwick in the morning. It rarely has as quiet a sea as it had today where there has been no wind all the day and the sun has shone.
