Pared down

Here we are again at our friends' lake place. It always seems to simplify and cut things down to the basic necessities of warmth, food, togetherness. I wonder if people who live in small, lakeside towns always feel like they're on vacation?

The drive up here flew by, the weather a mix of drizzle and wind driven squalls of rain. The roaring camp fire tonight was the prettiest one I've ever seen.

It's finally cleared up, the stars are out in their many millions. Heavenly. Wish I brought my tripod. May have to figure out an alternative, it is quite spectacular.
